We are pleased to announce the release of your newest version X4 Product Line V22GA. This release is already available on your Extranet:
Industry 4.0 continues to transform manufacturing by driving digitalization, enhancing automation, and boosting efficiency. With this evolution, you can complete tasks faster, with greater precision, and fewer errors.
In this latest release, we’re excited to deliver significant performance improvements. Depending on your equipment you can expect reduced cycle times, accelerated Inspection Path Planning calculations, and enhanced safety when creating CMM trajectories offline. And as always, we’ve expanded compatibility with new interfaces to streamline your workflow.
Discover the new features and innovations in this version below!
Global Functions for all segment
First Article Inspection (FAI) Report
We understand the challenges of validating new or updated production processes in industries with demanding regulations and process controls to ensure that parts meet specified requirements. That’s why we’ve simplified the process in Metrolog X4 for you. It’s now easier than ever to include an FAI (First Article Inspection) table in your metrology reports.
Improved interface for “Scan GDT” command
The “Scan PMI” command has been replaced with “Scan GD&T” to provide a more comprehensive approach to displaying additional GD&T attributes for each feature. This update provides a clearer, more intuitive understanding of the part, all within a single window.
Datum Reference Frame now digestable from CAD
We continue the work of integrating Data Reference Frame (DRF) support in X4. It’s now possible to automtaically import and decode the DRF from CAD.
“Curves mode” for Point Cloud Alignment
Vision systems can generate curve point clouds, which are characterized by points concentrated along the edges of the scanned part. To streamline the alignment of these point clouds with your CAD file, we’ve introduced a specialized “Curves” mode, designed to complement our existing “Surface” mode. This enhancement makes best-fit point cloud alignment more intuitive and efficient for curve point clouds.
Collision detection and avoidance now available in Metrolog !
Metrolog now includes collision detection and avoidance capabilities when disconnected from the machine, ensuring safer operation. The ability to update measurement paths offline while detecting and avoiding potential collisions is a safeguard that helps protect your equipment and enhances overall safety.
Reduced cycle times for 5-Axes scanning for Revo
To optimize efficiency during scan program execution, we’ve introduced the ability to link scans. This enhancement allows multiple scan measurements to be performed consecutively without raising the probe. By maintaining continuous contact with the material, the need for repeated retraction and re-approach is eliminated. This improves workflow and more importantly, reduces cycle time.
New interfaces available
As always, we continue to deliver on our universality by added two new interfaces to our equipment list:
- On the controller Hexagon, Metrolog now supports the Hexagon HH-A-H2.5 probes
- Support for FARO’s Quantum X FaroArm Series
Performance updates
Calculation times for Inspection Path Planning (Line Scanner and Laser Radar) just got a lot faster.
Looking for a specific cobot ? It’s now possible to filter for “cobots” within the catalogue view search functionality.
Added inline confocal sensors
To provide more choices to enable the automation of inline metrology, we’ve added two new confocal sensors:
- LMI Gocator 5512
- Precitec CLS2Pro
…That’s not all, have a look to all new capabilities while consulting the Release notes.
