A chat with Marta Cantabrana, Director of 3C Metrology, which has been reselling our solutions in Mexico for 18 years, about the year 2024, projects and upcoming events!
How was 2024?
It’s been a busy year! Both in terms of projects and events, our teams have been busy.
We took part in numerous international tradeshows and exhibitions, presented no less than 12 webinars and celebrated our 18th birthday with an Open House. We were also awarded the prize for most innovative SME by the CCI France México Bajio, a very gratifying reward given that innovation is at the heart of our daily work!
We also launched our new website at ExpoMaq 2024 – Exposición Internacional de Máquinas – Herramienta y Tecnología para Manufactura. The site was designed to communicate our latest news and allow more interaction with the team, who put a lot of energy into its development.
I was also involved in the SPRI Group’s program to strengthen the presence and impact of women in the internationalization of companies. I’ve been able to take part in several events to discuss this topic and build a network, for a more inclusive and representative business future.
And what does 2025 look like?
Busy! We’ve already got two tradeshows lined up, the first of which runs from February 11 to 13. It’s the Expo Manufactura, which we do every year, in Monterrey, in the state of Nuevo León. We’ll have an 2 square meter stand there, where we’ll be presenting Metrolog with i-Robot and 5-Axis technology. This show is a great opportunity to kick off the year by meeting our customers and market players, old and new. It’s a great way to get the year off to a flying start!
We’ll also be taking part in the FAMEX show in Mexico City, from April 23 to 26, which is more focused on aeronautics. These are our two biggest events of the year. We’d also like to hold another Open House in 2025, perhaps in collaboration with one of our resellers.
And what about projects?
In Mexico, the projects and customers are very diverse: small, medium and large companies. We have a total of 150 licenses.
We have many 5-Axis projects, notably with Renishaw, their PH20 head and their new Revo dynamic head and probe measurement system. In fact, we’ve just sold a Ph20-equipped machine, which left our workshops barely a week ago.
We also have several i-Robot projects, and of course Retrofit, which is our core business. Our team has been ISO17025 accredited since 2008!
Do you have any special partnerships?
We have agreements with universities for academic licenses: UNAQ (Universidad Aeronáutica de Querétaro) and the Universidad de Mondragón. In fact, I had the opportunity to take part in a Mondragon student event, where I was able to discover their potential.
3C Metrology also sponsors several indigenous children for their school year. Since its creation 13 years ago, we have been involved in the Mochila Completa project, which aims to enable indigenous children to attend school under equal conditions. We finance bags, school supplies, clothing, personal hygiene items and workshops on financial education, children’s rights and gender equality. This is an important project, which enables us to contribute to Mexico’s development.
