Since 2018, three sites have been working to modernize 3D inspection through the deployment of a 4.0 software: Metrolog X4.
The objective? No more and no less than increased measurement performance.
“The software has algorithms developed for faster computation times, offers a fluid user experience thanks to its improved interface and allows an optimized programming experience. In short, the perfect tool to allow our inspectors and programmers to be more autonomous.” explains Bertrand Valière, on-site Adjustment and Inspection Manager.
Moving up to the next level also means starting from scratch, as teams have to be trained and hundreds of programs have to be transformed. Charlotte CRAMPON, Inspection Methods Manager, emphasizes: “The little extra is that our suppliers use the same software, which will allow a better cooperation between us“.
The project is still in its early stages, but one thing is certain, it will allow Quality Inspection to move into 4.0!
